T O P A N G A is an all-female indie-folk St. John’s supergroup! Singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Katie Baggs, Carole Bestvater, and Valmy have found a rare kind of magic in each other, using three-part harmonies, acoustic guitar, five-string violin, double bass, and piano as conduits for exploring arrangements of their solo projects. This group is about joining forces through friendship and collaboration to elevate their songs and the messages they carry. They have performed on many stages in their home province of Newfoundland & Labrador, most notably for the 2025 Lawnya Vawnya Festival in St. John’s.

Valmy is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music therapist. Following the release of her 2023 album, The In Between, she was awarded MusicNL’s Solo Artist of the Year and received an ECMA nomination.

Carole Bestvater is a freestyle violinist, educator, singer-songwriter, and poet. She performs with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Strong Harbour Strings Collective, Youngtree & The Blooms, High & Lonesome, Crooked Stovepipe, and many more.

Katie Baggs is a singer-songwriter, mother, and educator. Her newest single - folk anthem The Words are Ours - was released on all platforms in August 2024.
