Theatre Hill Cafe is excited to announce that on December 11, Natasha Blackwood will be joining us for an intimate evening of jazz-inspired Christmas carols, classics from the Great American Songbook, and her multi-award-nominated original songs.
Natasha Blackwood is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Stephenville, Newfoundland. Her latest album Love Songs for Good Machines is a jazz-inspired collection of original songs with folk sensibilities. Produced by JUNO-winner Amelia Curran, the album received multiple ECMA and MusicNL Award nominations in 2025, as well as international radio play and critical acclaim. Ian Lomax (The Jazz Journal, UK) described the album as "...a delight. Fun and entertaining at one level, but worth a deeper dive into the lyrics to explore exactly where she is coming from... a rare talent".
Natasha’s solo performances on vocals and piano bring a unique blend of storytelling, subtlety, and energy, with a playful and coy demeanor like that of an old friend. Her gentle approach and purposeful delivery create a sense of closeness and connection, having been compared to greats like Joni Mitchell and Madelaine Peyroux. Audiences have described her shows as relateable, vulnerable, soothing, and playful simultaneously. Her voice, quiet yet bold, moves effortlessly through complex music with tenderness and sass.
