Blueberry Grunt
We’re proud to open this year’s festival with Blueberry Grunt, the sophomore feature from acclaimed local filmmaker Sherry White. In it, Vivian (Liisa Repo-Martell) and Harold (Joel Thomas Hynes) embark on a blueberry-picking camping trip to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary. However, Harold's constant chatter and Vivian's quiet judgment create a bubbling tension, hinting at friction between them. When Harold announces he’s cutting their trip short, a fight ensues, uncovering a traumatic event concerning their son, Jacob. As their argument escalates into a life-or-death situation, Vivian must head out alone to seek help, despite not knowing the route or how to drive the ATV, while Harold struggles in solitude. Both must disentangle themselves from their co-dependence if they ever hope for a happy ending.
