Southern Echoes is a musical trio made up of three lifelong friends - Kathy Stock, Desmond Smith, and Doug White - who have been making music together, in one way or another, since 2001.
They are proud to call Newfoundland home, but each band member spent time living in different parts of the American South, where they fell in love with the sounds and stories of Americana, folk, traditional, and country music. Eventually, life brought each of them back north - but those southern influences stayed with them, mixed with a love of Newfoundland music too.
Now, they’ve come together as a trio, blending heartfelt originals with some of their favourite covers. Their sound is rooted in lived experiences, shaped by the roads they’ve travelled, and carried by rich harmonies and honest storytelling.
