2027 Season
The Majestic Theatre Young People’s Company
The Majestic Theatre Young People’s Company will be back for summer 2027! We’ve got an exciting summer of shows ahead and we can’t wait to share them with you.
About the Program
From June to August, YPC members will dive into a full-scale mainstage musical, a Theatre for Young Audiences production, and a high-energy tribute concert, plus a variety of other shows and workshops!
You’ll be paid for your participation, train with local professional artists, and gain real, hands-on experience in a supportive, professional theatre environment.
“The program is more than a summer opportunity, it is a launching pad for the next generation of Newfoundland and Labrador theatre artists”

How to Audition:
In March of every year, we open up the audition process for YPC. We will select 19 performers aged 16 – 23 to perform in our productions and 2 technical interns that will assist out techs in show production.
To express interest, email ypc@majestictheatrehill.com and we’ll send you specifics on audition details on dates, time and location.
Tips for Success
Getting ready to audition with YPC? A few tips to help you put your best foot forward:
- Arrive early. Give yourself time to warm up, settle your nerves, and check in without rushing.
- Come prepared. Have your audition piece (monologue, song, or scene) rehearsed and memorized ahead of time.
- Choose material that shows your range. Pick something that reflects who you are as a performer, not just what you think the panel wants to see.
- Be yourself. Confidence and authenticity go a lot further than trying to be “perfect.”
- Take direction well. If asked to adjust your performance on the spot, show that you’re coachable and open to feedback.
- Bring a résumé and headshot if you have them, and be ready to talk about your experience (even if it’s limited, enthusiasm counts).
- If auditioning for a technical role, be ready to speak to any relevant skills or experience, backstage, lighting, sound, stage management, etc.
